Margaret Dress in Bosc Ramie
SOLD OUT
We're sorry, but this product is sold out.
Story
– Gerard Manley Hopkins, 'Spring and Fall'
Like the subject of the poem that inspired the collection, Margaret is innocent yet wise; she is a force much greater than she appears. A pinafore-style dress with a long, full skirt and button-fastened shoulder straps, the Margaret exudes both playfulness and elegance and can be styled in ways to accentuate either characteristic.

Materials
This dress is made of ramie woven in Japan. A natural fiber deriving from a plant in the nettle family, ramie is one of the oldest known fibers used in the world and shares many characteristics with flax — both are coarse yet elegant, sturdy yet wrinkly, breathable and naturally anti-microbial — but is a bit more coarse and rustic. Ramie fabric has a similar roughness on the skin as linen does, so I wouldn't recommend it to those who have skin sensitivities to coarser fibers; however, for those who do not, ramie, like hemp or linen, gets softer and more lustrous each time you wash it. The color of the fabric is a rich, golden mustard brown, reminiscent of a bosc pear.
In addition to the fabric, this dress uses cotton thread, two vintage mother of pearl buttons, one vintage metal hook and eye, organic cotton interfacing, cotton pocket lining, and cotton garment labels.
Fit
Take a look at our Size Guide to find your size.
The Margaret is fitted in the waist, free in the hips, and only semi-fitted in the bust, so I recommend choosing the size that most closely corresponds to your waist measurement.
Alyssa is wearing a size 4 and is 5'8" with a 35" bust, 27" waist, and 37" hip.
