The Lily is the most playful dress in our SS17 collection, with a casual V-neck, a simple shift silhouette, and nine vintage buttons dotting the front. The slanted waist seam and slash pockets add just a little bit of structure and geometry to the otherwise easygoing shape. It's perfect for those days when you want to wear comfortable shoes but also want to wear a dress — the menswear-inspired shirttail hem is the perfect complement to flats and sneakers.

Materials

This dress is made of GOTS-certified organic cotton double gauze from India. Composed of two layers of gauze that have been tacked together, double gauze is unbelievably soft, breathable, and opaque. It is light and airy and one of those fabrics that, like linen, is wrinkle-prone, but that's part of what makes it so great to those (like me) who love it — even the first time you wear it, double gauze feels soft and rumpled and worn in, like a cozy old blanket, and it only gets softer with repeated wear.

This particular double gauze is a bit thicker and more tightly woven than the double gauze used as our lining fabric. The color is a sunny yellow-gold that pairs excellently with navy and cream.

The dress is lined with undyed GOTS-certified organic cotton double gauze, produced in a Fair Trade certified mill in India. Our lining fabric is unbelievably soft and breathable and makes for a perfect lightweight layer against your skin.

In addition to the fabric, this dress uses organic cotton thread, 9 vintage mother-of-pearl buttons, organic cotton interfacing, and organic cotton labels.

The Lily is fitted in the bust, waist, and hips, so make sure to use all three measurements when determining your size. The style runs true to size, but if your measurements fall in between sizes, especially in the hips, I recommend sizing up to avoid any gaping in the front.

Mallory is wearing a size 4 and is 5'6" with a 34" bust, 27" waist, and 39" hip.
