The Ivy Skirt was, miraculously, the one and only piece in the collection whose design came to me instantly and that needed no fit adjustments after the first prototype. Something about fall always screams "miniskirt!" to me, and once I had the idea of an A-line wrap skirt with a button waistline closure and no zipper, everything fell in place immediately.

The Ivy truly is a wear-with-anything kind of skirt. The vintage buttons and slash pockets add some visual interest, but not too much to take away from a statement top. The Ivy looks great with basically any kind of top or sweater tucked in or left out, and like any good mini should, it pairs incredibly with tights. Out of everything in the collection, I think this is going to be the thing I wear the most.

Materials

This skirt is made of 12-ounce GOTS-certified organic cotton denim from India, hand-dyed in our studio with eco-friendly fiber-reactive dyes to be a dark, reddish eggplant. I've stayed away from sourcing denim in the past simply because I couldn't source what I was looking for, but I finally found it: thick, durable, substantial, but still soft.

The rich purple color of this denim pairs well with basically every autumnal hue: mustard, fawn, evergreen, red, black, the list goes on. I especially love it paired with our Mocha Khadi and Saffron Dot fabrics, though.

In addition to the fabric, this skirt uses recycled polyester thread, two vintage plastic buttons, organic cotton labels, organic cotton interfacing, and handloom cotton bias tape/pocket lining.

The Ivy is fitted in almost entirely in the waist, so use that measurement to determine your size. If your waist measurement is in between sizes, I recommend sizing up if you want the skirt to hit lower on your hips and sizing down if you'd like it to hit higher up on your waist.
