The Hummingbird appears to float above the ground without effort, but her remarkable grace comes from a series of calculated movements. With a classic A-line silhouette and a versatility that comes from a layering-friendly cut (wear it by itself in the summer; wear it with tights and a turtleneck when it's cold), the Hummingbird's appearance of simplicity is deceptive.

Its perfect A-line shape comes from strategically placed darts, its fun scalloped hem from meticulously drafted and stitched curves. Imperceptible to her viewer, the Hummingbird works tirelessly to achieve her goal, all while making her efforts look like no trouble at all.

Materials

This dress is made from a hemp/silk-blend charmeuse grown and milled in China. Textured and matte on one side and silky and shiny on the other, charmeuse is dramatic, substantial, and luxurious, and the perfect vessel for a blend of hemp and silk, two fabrics that aren't often paired together. The charmeuse is dyed in our studio using eco-friendly fiber-reactive dyes to achieve this lovely shade of lilac.

In addition to the fabric, this dress uses cotton thread, two vintage mother of pearl buttons, one vintage metal snap, and organic cotton garment labels.

The Hummingbird is pretty forgiving as far as sizing goes, but it is most fitted in the bust, so use that measurement when determining your size. If you're in between sizes, I recommend sizing up if you'd like a looser, more tunic-like dress and sizing down if you'd like a more curve-hugging look.
