The Eleanor Skirt is, indeed, the skirt version of the Eleanor Dress: thoroughly gathered with a wide hem, made of a luxurious purple silk organza that crisply drapes away from the body. Unlike the dress, however, the skirt features a narrow waistband at the top and a lining that is cut a bit higher than expected, creating a subtle peek-a-boo effect several inches above the knee. Rounding out the design is a pair of pockets sneakily hidden in the side seams, as no skirt is truly complete without somewhere to stash your hands (and stuff).

This skirt is made of silk organza milled in Korea. Sheer and crisp, this organza has a slight sheen due to its silk content and characteristically conveys an incredible amount of volume at an incredible lack of weight. The color is a deep, royal purple that reminds me of one of my favorite vegetables.
The skirt is lined with Bemberg cupro rayon woven in Japan. Cuprammonium rayon is so neat: it has all the benefits of being a natural fiber — breathability, biodegradability, durability — in addition to all the benefits of a super silky lining fabric — anti-static, anti-cling, total opacity. Made from the leftover fibers (known as linter) from the cotton plant after the ginning process, cupro is super-sustainable too (a true zero-waste fiber!).
