The moment I laid eyes (and hands) on this royal purple silk organza fabric, I knew its destiny would involve puff sleeves. Then, something about the color of the fabric and the puff sleeves led me down a design rabbit hole wherein I realized that the only sensible thing was to really go with the whole royal theme and make an all-out princess dress. The Eleanor is just that: with a voluminous gathered skirt, puff sleeves, and a dainty fitted bodice dotted with mother of pearl buttons, this is the the perfect dress when you want to command a bit of royal attention. (Or if you just want to rock some purple puff sleeves.)

This dress is made of silk organza milled in Korea. Sheer and crisp, this organza has a slight sheen due to its silk content and characteristically conveys an incredible amount of volume at an incredible lack of weight. The color is a deep, royal purple that reminds me of one of my favorite vegetables.
The dress is lined with Bemberg cupro rayon woven in Japan. Cuprammonium rayon is so neat: it has all the benefits of being a natural fiber — breathability, biodegradability, durability — in addition to all the benefits of a super silky lining fabric — anti-static, anti-cling, total opacity. Made from the leftover fibers (known as linter) from the cotton plant after the ginning process, cupro is super-sustainable too (a true zero-waste fiber!).
