Boxwood Jacket in Evergreen Corduroy
SOLD OUT
We're sorry, but this product is sold out.
Story
The Boxwood Jacket is a Margu milestone: our first-ever outerwear piece! With our first foray into outerwear, I set out to design a simple, functional piece that would be at home in almost anyone's wardrobe: a lightweight workwear-inspired jacket.
Perhaps the most simple and least fussy piece in the collection, the Boxwood is the perfect topper for all sorts of tops and dresses. Not designed for warmth, it is unlined with fun contrast bias trim inside, so it's perfect for weird in-between weather when it's too warm for a real jacket but too cool to be wearing just one layer. My favorite way to wear the Boxwood is over fancy dresses to dress them down a bit; I just love the juxtaposition of workwear and glamour.

Materials
This jacket is made of 19-wale organic cotton corduroy from India, hand-dyed in our studio with eco-friendly fiber-reactive dyes to be a dark, saturated blueish-green. It's slightly lighter in weight than a traditional pants-weight corduroy, and it's unbelievably soft and cozy against the skin.
The rich evergreen color of this corduroy pairs well with basically every autumnal hue: mustard, fawn, maroon, black, the list goes on. I especially love it paired with our Mocha Khadi fabric, though.
In addition to the fabric, this jacket uses cotton thread, five vintage plastic buttons, organic cotton labels, organic cotton interfacing, and organic cotton bias tape.
Fit
Take a look at our Size Guide to find your size.
The Boxwood Jacket is fitted most in the bust, so use that measurement when determining your size. If your bust measurement falls in between sizes, or if you plan on wearing this over a lot of heavier pieces, I recommend sizing up.
Sophie is wearing a size 4 and is 5'8" with a 36" bust, 28" waist, and 38" hip.
